Ian Francis's paint techniques are really sophisticated, but at the same time very simple, with hardly any control. So I had a go at painting really really loosely with no control. And luckily, I am really pleased with how they turned out. I used really watery acrylic paint and then sprayed it with a water spray. I let the paint drip down, and then added other colours into the watery paint. I then sprayed it again. I got some lovely contrasting areas of colours, and I love how the paint frays out and feathers. It's very pretty, which will be great as it will be a contrast of the dramatic other features the background is juxtaposed with.
