Who Would Have Thought...

Container is a collective in multi media art and design, and they specialise in creating imaginitive fantasy pieces in both 2D and 3D. They use illustration, photography, set, design, animation, performance and installation. Their installation I find so impressive, they enhance as much as possible with lights, and moving parts.

However these illustrations above are from the exhibition 'Hatching' in Tokyo which is about transmutation were really inspiring to me.

Firstly I love the use of beautiful fluid typography to create a story. It's so simple with the black writing on the white paper, but with the varying typefaces, it's so engaging and eye catching. I will definitely apply this into my own work.

The colour images underneath I love as they are so unusual, confusing and surreal. I love the mix of high tec and low tec. I would like to try my own.

My typographic inspired piece. I wrote a basic outline towards the unconscious mind.

Here are my pieces inspired by the 'Hatching' exhibition. I used layers of my previous illustrations mixed with photography, and layer styles. I then added scribbles with pencil.

Here is a photocopied version. I was intrigued as to how it would look flattened down with greyscale. I think it looks just as interesting as the piece above.

Here was a small experiment where I added colour to the floral parts using pastels.
